- DI heeds customers' voices on a national tour and passes them on to production sites
- Exceptional for union leadership to join a company's on-site customer service tour: "We will overcome market slowdown through labor-management collaboration."
Doosan Infracore (CEO Dongyoun Sohn) has announced that the labor union (Chairman Seungwoo Shin) leadership have joined its on-site customer service tour for its construction equipment and engine customers in Korea.
The company's latest on-site customer service is special in that the labor union officials, including the chairman, participate in the management's efforts to provide customers with product repair and maintenance services while collecting Voice of Customers at their worksites.
It is quite extraordinary for a union chairman representing the interests of shop-floor workers to accompany company's customer service personnel and meet its customers face-to-face. "Management and the labor union have joined hands to overcome the current market slowdown. The customer service tour will continue throughout the country until May," said an official of Doosan Infracore. "One of the advantages of the labor union involvement is that VOC is directly passed on to production lines."
On April 14, a group of more than ten people including product service technicians and the union leadership (including the chairman) paid a visit to the company's major construction equipment customers in North Chungcheong Province, including Duje Industrial Development and Donggwang Development.
At meetings with the Doosan Infracore labor-management on-site service group, CEO Baeshik Lee of Duje and CEO Suhyeon Kang of Donggwang presented the following opinions: "We need Doosan parts that reflect the characteristics of our operations sites." "Keep in mind that customer expectations always surpass the level of supplier’s willingness to serve." "Make sure that each Doosan employee pays keen attention to detail so that the company can deliver masterpiece machinery."
The union chairman Seungwoo Shin said, "We at the union leadership have carefully listened to what our customers want and will reflect it in the way we operate at sites. This input will greatly help improve our product quality," adding, "In times of market slowdown, the management and the labor have to become one: They will join forces to supply our customers with products that surpass their wildest expectations."
