Doosan Corporation Donates 100 Million Won to Durimo Self-Sufficiency Fund

On May 3, Doosan Corporation delivered more than 100 million won (about $87,000) to the Babo Nanum Foundation (Chairman Gyu-man Cho) to fund the Durimo* Self-Sufficiency program at the Archdiocese of Seoul, Myeongdong, Jung-gu, Seoul. The funds will go to help single teenage mothers stand on their own feet.
The Durimo Assistance Program, established in 2013, is operated jointly by Doosan Corporation and the Babo Nanum Foundation, and funded by employee contributions and matching grants by the company.
This year, Doosan Corporation selected 24 single teenage mothers after reviewing the applications submitted to the Korean Unwed Mothers’ Families Association (KUMFA). Under the program, the mothers will receive financial support needed to obtain vocational training or certification classes as they prepare to stand on their own feet.
