- Visits South Gyeongsang Creative Economy Innovation Center, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction site and more
- Listens to union members and suppliers, calls for strong partnerships
On April 1, Doosan Group Chairman Jeongwon Park took a tour of the South Gyeongsang Creative Economy Innovation Center, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction’s manufacturing site and labor union office, and in-house suppliers in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province. The tour represents his first step in fulfilling his commitment to “building a corporate culture centered on local operations.”
In his inaugural address delivered on March 28, Chairman Park said “speedy judgments and actions taken at the sites could make or break our chances for success, especially when the business environment is so unpredictable,” while stressing the value of local operations.
Chairman Park first visited the South Gyeongsang Creative Economy Innovation Center to assess the progress and current operating status of the center as it marks the one-year anniversary of its establishment this month. He also visited the businesses occupying the Incubator Room of the center and promised Doosan’s continued support for and cooperation with the center.
Afterward, Chairman Park made a stop at the manufacturing site, labor union office and in-house suppliers of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction to hear firsthand from workers in the field.
“We have to do our utmost to gain a competitive advantage with distinguished technology and products to win in this difficult business environment,” said Chairman Park during his tour of the manufacturing site. “If you spot technologies, such as gas turbines, with a potential to fuel the growth of the company or provide the next new growth opportunities, don’t hesitate to grab the opportunity and go for it.”
“If you have any problems, just let me know,” said Chairman Park in a meeting with the union members. They talked about a wide range of topics, including the value of local operations and open communication.
Chairman Park also met up with officials of the in-house suppliers and called for enhanced partnerships to grow together.
Ahead of the day’s official tour, Chairman Park stopped by the Doosan Future Tree Childcare Center to show his support for teachers’ dedication to nurturing children.
