Doosan Corporation is launching a full-scale business cooperation encompassing AI, energy, and robotics with LG CNS.
Doosan Corporation announced that it has signed an MOU with LG CNS on June 18 at LG Science Park located in Magok-dong, Seoul to “secure global competitiveness in the area of data centers, hydrogen drone logistics, and AX (AI Transformation) and RX (Robot Transformation).” In attendance at the agreement signing ceremony were officials from the two companies including Doosan Corporation President Yoo Seung-woo and LG CNS President and CEO Hyun Shin-Gyoon.
This agreement was signed to secure a future growth engine by combining the core capabilities of both companies. They plan to organize a business cooperation body within 1 month of the date of signing the agreement and set up detailed implementation plans.
First, the two companies will explore synergies in the data center and cloud businesses. They will further develop plans to introduce Doosan Mobility Innovation’s high-efficiency hydrogen fuel cells (PEMFCs) into LG CNS’s data center business. They will also discuss ways to enhance the cloud and data center infrastructure operated by Doosan Corporation by leveraging LG CNS’s technologies.
The two companies will also collaborate on logistics innovation by utilizing eco-friendly mobility. They plan to come up with a joint cooperation plan to advance the hydrogen fuel cell-based VTOL (Vertical Take-off and Landing) logistics business they have been jointly pursuing since 2025.
Meanwhile, the two companies will combine their advanced technologies in the areas of RX (Robot Transformation) and AI Transformation (AX). They will further advance their collaboration by integrating hydrogen fuel cells with LG CNS’s robot learning and operating platform “PhysicalWorks” in order to develop businesses related to robots and humanoids. The two companies also agreed to identify specific use cases based on LG CNS’s Agentic AI platform and come up with an implementation roadmap together to strengthen the competitiveness of Doosan Corporation’s Agentic AI*.
*Agentic AI: A next-generation AI technology that understands objectives, formulates plans, and autonomously completes complicated tasks using the necessary tools even if specific instructions are not given.
In addition to this, the two companies agreed to collaborate on establishing autonomous maintenance systems (Predictive Maintenance (PdM)) by proposing “anomaly detection and maintenance scenarios” integrating Agentic AI, hydrogen drones, and Digital Twin technologies for manufacturing and power generation facilities as well as large-scale plants.
“LG CNS will generate synergies by combining its unrivaled AX and RX capabilities with the technologies of Doosan, which is a powerful partner. We will quickly develop the results from our collaboration, which leads to commercialization from AI equipment prediction at manufacturing sites to industrial innovation utilizing robots,” LG CNS President and CEO Hyun Shin-Gyoon said.
"We will create new business models by combining Doosan's advanced technological expertise in advanced materials, IT, and energy with LG CNS's AX capabilities. With this cooperation encompassing everything from data centers to robotics and AI, we will further enhance the future value of both companies," Doosan Corporation President Yoo Seung-woo said.
