Doosan Robotics announced on the 20th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Daedong, a leading company in future agriculture, for the joint development of on-device AI technology and business collaboration in the agricultural robotics sector.

Under this agreement, the two companies will work together to develop field robots optimized for smart farms and outdoor agricultural environments. They will also focus on creating and commercializing on-device AI technology that can be applied to unstructured agricultural settings. Furthermore, the collaboration aims to pave the way for expanding into the global market for field robots.
To commercialize Mobile Manipulator (MoMa) specialized for agriculture, Doosan Robotics will take charge of designing and manufacturing robotic arms and control systems, as well as developing robotic arm motion. Daedong, on the other hand, will contribute by designing and manufacturing autonomous mobility platforms based on diverse agricultural field data. The company will also focus on conducting field tests and optimization, obtaining certifications for safety in agricultural environments, and supporting compliance with overseas regulations.
Additionally, the two companies plan to jointly develop on-device AI technology that can recognize at a human level and perform agricultural tasks even in unstructured environments. They aim to collaborate in securing government-led AI System-on-Chip (SoC) development projects in the future. On-device AI refers to technology that executes artificial intelligence functions directly on a device rather than relying on cloud servers. This enables real-time AI services without internet connectivity, ensuring data privacy and fast response times. Doosan Robotics will standardize key elements such as the performance, functionality, and interface of SoC applications for robotics, while also developing AI algorithms and firmware.
