Doosan Enerbility Signs MOU with KEPCO KDN on “Energy Sector’s Digital Transformation”
      2025-04-28
      - Doosan’s digital capabilities acquired from power plant projects to be combined with KEPCO KDN’s ICT expertise
      - Cooperation to be pursued in the application of AI to cybersecurity, power transmission & distribution control systems

Doosan Enerbility is partnering with the energy sector ICT platform provider KEPCO KDN to speed up its efforts to achieve digital transformation.

On April 28th, Doosan Enerbility announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with KEPCO KDN on “Strengthening Technological Competitiveness and Developing Joint Business Model in Line with Energy Sector’s Digital Transformation.”  The signing ceremony, which was held at the Bundang Doosan Tower, was attended by key figures from both parties, including Sanghyung Park, CEO and President of KEPCO KDN, and Yongjin Song, Chief Strategy Officer and President of Doosan Enerbility.

With the signing of this MOU, the two companies will be leveraging their respective capabilities to pursue digitalization of the energy sector and develop new businesses. To this end, cooperation will be pursued in the following areas - development and widespread adoption of AI technology in the energy sector, technological cooperation aimed at strengthening cybersecurity in the energy sector, and cooperation on the development of power transmission, conversion & distribution control system technologies.

”By combining Doosan’s digital technology expertise acquired from our on-site experience with numerous power plants and KEPCO KDN’s prowess in the field of information & communication technology, we expect to see the adoption of AI and digital transformation gain traction in the energy sector,” said Yongjin Song, CSO of Doosan Enerbility.  “We expect this will also lead to the enhancement of the Korean energy sector’s competitiveness in the global market.”

Doosan Enerbility, which has been pursuing digital transformation since 2013, has been applying IT technology and combining it with its existing strengths in the power generation and machinery sector. Doosan’s digital solutions are being applied to not only domestic power plants, but also to plants in the global markets such as Thailand and India. The “PreVision” solution in particular, a prediction and diagnostics solution that was developed by Doosan, boasts of high accuracy and is being used for the early detection of equipment failures, thereby contributing to the stable operation of power plants.
