      - A world-class exhibition that spotlights global construction equipment themes… Doosan Bobcat showcased cutting-edge autonomous and electrification technologies.

Doosan Group Chairman Jeongwon Park attended the largest construction equipment exhibition in Europe held in Germany with his management team. He underscored, “The European market is the second key market that will support Doosan Bobcat’s sustainable growth after North America,” and added, “We must lead the market with Bobcat’s unique, innovative technologies.”

On the April 13th, Doosan Group announced that Doosan Bobcat participated in the construction equipment exhibition ‘Bauma 2025’ held in Munich, Germany from the 7th to the 13th (local time). Doosan Group Chairman Jeongwon Park visited the site with executives, including Doosan Bobcat CEO Scott Park, to evaluate the current status of the European market and discover and experience competitors’ new technology trends.

As the second largest market for Doosan Bobcat sales, following North America, Europe accounts for 15-20% of Doosan Bobcat’s total sales generated, and notably, Doosan Bobcat has maintained an average annual growth rate of 8% within the European market for the past four years due to the rollout of new technologies and portfolio expansion.

The European compact construction equipment market is estimated to be worth 160,000 units per year, of which excavators account for about half (80,000 units), telehandlers about 40,000 units, and compact wheel loaders about 20,000 units. Doosan Bobcat seeks to expand its market by introducing 12 compact excavator models, including four new products at this year’s Bauma. In the telehandler sector, which has increased utilization in the recycling industry beyond the existing construction and agriculture fields, Bobcat’s electric ‘TL25.60e’ telehandler concept machine was exhibited, garnering strong interest among visitors.

In its 34th edition, Bauma is a global exhibition held every three years, where visitors can marvel at global construction equipment themes. It is called one of the world's top three construction equipment exhibitions, along with ‘CONEXPO-CON/AGG’ in the U.S. and ‘Intermat’ in France. This year, nearly 3,500 companies from 57 countries participated in Bauma, with almost 600,000 visitors estimated to attend.

Bauma is a platform and a venue for business interaction, especially for European construction equipment-related companies and buyers. At this year's Bauma, exhibitors showcased cutting-edge technologies, such as autonomous/remote operation technologies, AI-based solutions, and new alternative-energy products such as those utilizing electricity and hydrogen.

Doosan Bobcat showcased 40 products, including five new products, among which the 1-2 ton compact excavator is a mainstay in the European market. The ‘Demo Zone’ located in the center of the booth featured equipment demonstrations and remote control functionality, and the indoor exhibition hall allowed users to explore future technologies firsthand by providing an immersive space to simulate work in virtual reality from the machine cab.

In addition to his time at the Doosan Bobcat booth, Chairman Park explored the booths of other global companies at Bauma. He showed keen interest and consideration of competitors’ products and services focused on electrification, autonomous/remote equipment, and AI-based technologies.

Chairman Park said, “Having observed the level of preparation that the global, top-tier, construction equipment companies are making in line with the autonomous and electrified trends, we must benchmark our own technology and ensure we remain ahead of them,” and added, ”We will continue to pursue technological innovations in alternative energy and autonomous operations, as well as AI, based on an innovative DNA that has released ‘world’s first’ products, such as skid-steer loaders and fully electric construction equipment.”

Doosan Bobcat was the first in its industry to introduce a 1-ton electric excavator at the 2019 Bauma and a ‘fully electric’ compact loader, T7X, in the U.S. in 2022. While expanding its electrified products to include telehandlers, it is also advancing the internalization of key components by entering the battery pack business. Also, in developing technologies for the future, it has integrated autonomous technologies into compact loaders, compact tractors, and zero-turn lawn mowers in cooperation with companies with which it has strategic partnerships. The company has also introduced a daring concept loader that eliminates the cab to fully operate autonomously.
