On Feb. 8, Doosan Group (Chairman Park Jeong-won) announced that it would donate Doosan-Bobcat construction machinery worth USD 1 million (about KRW 1.2 billion) to assist with onsite relief and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkey.
Using its local Doosan-Bobcat dealer, the company plans to quickly deliver construction machinery to be used for rescue operations and infrastructure restoration of buildings and roads. The machinery being delivered includes skid loaders and excavators for removing and moving debris, as well as portable generators and lighting equipment to be installed at sites with no power.
A Doosan official said, “We hope that it will be immediately deployed to the disaster zones, make real contributions to onsite disaster relief activities, and be used for damage recovery going forward.”
During major disasters, such as the 2005 Hurricane Katrina in the U.S., the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the 2011 Japan earthquake, the 2013 Haiyan typhoon in the Philippines, the 2015 Nepal earthquake, and the 2018 Indonesia earthquake, Doosan Group has always delivered construction machinery and relief-aid funds.
