Doosan Fuel Cell will export hydrogen fuel cells overseas for the first time in Korea.

Doosan Fuel Cell commemorated the first export of hydrogen fuel cells in its shipment ceremony at its factory in Iksan, North Jeolla Province on September 27. This event was joined by Kiyoung Park, Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Wonshik Shin, Deputy Governor of North Jeolla Province, Iksan Mayor Heonyul Jeong, and Doosan Fuel Cell CEO Sookyung Yoo.

Doosan Fuel Cell is exporting 4 sets of 440kW hydrogen fuel cells as distributed generation for power, cooling and heating supply to apartments and buildings in Nanhai, Foshan, China. Installation, commissioning, and long-term services will be supported by Doosan Fuel Cell. In addition, Doosan agreed to actively engage in development of hydrogen fuel cell market and expansion of fuel cell supply in China.

“Government’s support for H2 economy and partnership with multiple suppliers, such as Destin Power which jointly developed PCS(Power Conversion System), HiAir Korea and J&L Tech made this export possible,” said Sookyung Yoo, CEO of Doosan Fuel Cell. “Doosan Fuel Cell will move beyond the domestic market. Competencies built up in the experience will provide the platform for overseas expansion, particularly in Shandong Province and Beijing.”

Meanwhile, stationary hydrogen fuel cell supply in advanced nations varied last year from 313MW in Japan, 483MW in the US, to 601MW in South Korea, expecting global stationary hydrogen fuel cell market size reaching 12.7~25.4GW in 2030.
