Doosan announced on Feb. 21 that it donated 1 billion won (about $884,000) to the Babo Nanum Foundation.
The donation ceremony took place at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul on Feb. 20, and Doosan Group Vice Chairman Geewon Park and Bishop Benedictus Hee-Song Son, chairman of the foundation, were among the attendees.
Babo Nanum was established in 2010 to carry on the spirit of love and care displayed by the late Cardinal Stephen Kim Sou-hwan. The foundation carries out a variety of charitable activities, including a free meal service and an inheritance donation campaign.
“This year is especially meaningful as it marks the 10th anniversary of the death of Cardinal Stephen Kim Sou-hwan,” said Vice Chairman Geewon Park. “It is our honor to help carry on the spirit of the late Cardinal who lived a life of sharing.”
Since 2012, Doosan Group has donated 1 billion won every year to the Babo Nanum Foundation.
