- Presenting the latest power generation technologies for gas turbines, ESSs, engines for power generation
- Signing of gas turbine service agreement with American private electricity supplier scheduled to take place
On Dec. 4-6, Doosan affiliates, including Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction and Doosan Infracore, will participate in Power-Gen International 2018, to be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Marking its 30th anniversary this year, Power-Gen International is the world’s largest power generation event, which takes place in the U.S. at the end of every year. This year’s event will feature more than 900 exhibiting companies from more than 100 countries, and is expected to attract more than 18,000 power professionals.
During the exhibition, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction will actively promote its gas turbine technology—which is currently under development as part of a state-run project with the commercial launch being scheduled to take place by 2021—and the energy storage system (ESS) business, which has been growing inside and outside Korea.
To this end, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction’s U.S.-based subsidiaries, including Doosan Turbomachinery Services (DTS), a firm specializing in gas turbine services, and Doosan GridTech, the ESS unit, will also take part in the event.
On Dec. 5 (local time), DTS will sign a long-term service agreement with Midland Cogeneration Venture (MCV), a privately-owned electricity supplier in the U.S. Under the agreement, DTS will deliver new replacement parts and repair services for the seven gas turbine units operated by MCV for the next six years.
Meanwhile, Doosan Infracore will showcase its latest lineup of electronic engines for generators, which are compliant with North America’s Tier 4 Final standards, the world’s most stringent, and the European Union’s Stage V emissions regulations, which are set to take effect in 2019. The seven electronic engines to be exhibited include its new G2 diesel engine models—the D24 and D34—and the new 22-liter engine, the DX22.
“In a quest to win new projects in the future, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction will initiate a pre-emptive awareness campaign for its new growth businesses such as gas turbines, ESSs and power plant services,” said a Doosan official. “Doosan Infracore will also focus on further elevating the brand awareness of its state-of-the-art electronic engines, which have been gaining attention in the overseas market, to reach out to new customers in Europe and Latin America.”
