On September 21, affiliates of Doosan Group including Doosan Bobcat Inc. and DTS (Doosan Turbomachinery Services) announced that they planned to donate relief equipment and funds amounting to $335,000 (KRW 3 billion 80 million) to assist the recovery effort in the areas of the U.S. devastated by the recent hurricanes.
To assist their quick recovery, Doosan Bobcat Inc. has already sent equipment needed to restore roads and houses destroyed by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, such as skid steer loaders (SSL), portable lighting towers, and generators, and now plans to dispatch relief equipment to Florida, which has been ravaged by Hurricane Irma.
DTS has donated USD 10,000 (approximately KRW 11,400,000) as a contribution to La Porte, near Houston, for damage recovery.
Furthermore, both Doosan Bobcat Inc. and DTS plan to send donation funds to local tradesmen and families who have been affected by the recent hurricanes.
In the past, Doosan Bobcat Inc. has supported other relief operations in the aftermath of large-scale calamities in the US, such as Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the flood in North Dakota in 2009, in the form of donations of much-needed equipment and funds.
