On Feb. 27, Doosan Group (Chairman Park Jeong-won) announced that it will donate 1 billion won ($845,300) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to support the containment of the COVID-19 virus and damage control.
The donation will be used to support the medical staff and health care workers fighting the epidemic who are having difficulty securing necessary supplies such as protective suits and masks.
"All the people of Korea are sending support to all the front-line medical professionals and health care workers struggling to tackle the coronavirus epidemic,” Park Jeong-won, the group’s chairman, said. “We hope that our small gesture of support will contribute to bringing the spread of COVID-19 to an end as soon as possible and repair all damage.”
The group’s affiliates are also providing support to the community such as Doosan Corporation delivering masks to children in child care institutions, which it sponsors, and families led by single mothers, along with Doosan Infracore providing relief goods to the underprivileged in Seoul and Incheon, where the company is located.
