Currently, DoosanĄ¯s global sourcing network includes manufacturing plants in China, Japan, Southeast Asia and in Western and Eastern Europe.
These plants allow us to serve our customers with leading technology and to customize new products. Our global network of manufacturing facilities connects with DoosanĄ¯s global R&D and engineering networks based in the U.S., India, and Europe. They also synchronize their workflow with our offices in Korea.
Doosan is a global leader in seawater desalination with a 46% market share. Doosan-built facilities produce more than 1.7 million tons of desalinated water serving six million people per day across the Middle East.
DoosanĄ¯s global machine tools sales of 5,600 units in 2006 places us as one of the top five, global manufacturers in the $47 billion metal cutting and forming tools market. In the excavators market, Doosan serves more than 19% of the market in China, making it a number one provider.
DoosanĄ¯s Chemical Process Equipment (CPE) is used for gas and oil plants in more than 50 countries around the world with the goal to extend its geographic coverage even further. We are also the second largest global supplier of diesel engines for large-sized vessels.

Our Infrastructure Support Businesses Global economic engine
The Infrastructure Support Business (ISB) is essential to our global economic engine. Its companies also enrich the quality of life for millions of people around the world by delivering the essential amenities of modern life. ISB includes all businesses related to the building and operation of social infrastructure, and accounts for developing infrastructure that meets the needs of both the public and private sectors across energy, construction, transportation, and equipment industries. It is a growing market with unlimited potential due to rapid, global urbanization.
With 82% of company sales in this area, ISB is central to our economic growth. DoosanĄ¯s Infrastructure Support Businesses are made up of five subsidiaries: Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Doosan Infracore, Doosan Construction & Engineering, Doosan Mecatec, and Doosan Engine.
These five subsidiaries provide people with electrical power, desalinated drinking water, construction equipment, advanced machinery, defense supplies, houses, highways and bridges, chemical processing equipment, and industrial engines.
