Doosan Art Center

Doosan Art Center

Doosan Art Center contributes to society through art. It is an ‘art incubator’ dedicated to the discovery of young artists and new works of diverse genres, including musicals, drama, music and painting.

Yeongang Hall the Musical Theater

Yeongang Hall was built in 1993 to commemorate Doosan’s 100th anniversary, and was subsequently remodeled into a musical theater in 2007. Many groundbreaking musical productions choose Yeongang Hall as their performance venue for its outstanding stage and sound and lighting systems.

Space 111, Theater for the Young Artists

Established in commemoration of Doosan’s 111th anniversary, Space 111 hosts performances of diverse genres and provides up-and-coming artists with valuable opportunities. It is the heart of the Doosan Art Center’s art incubator. Space 111 gets directly involved in productions in a bid to discover and support talented artists.

Doosan Gallery, Non-Profit Gallery

Doosan Gallery is a public gallery established to create a new culture in art. Young artists involved in painting, photography, sculpture, design and media are promoted both in and out of Korea. Also, free lessons are offered at the Doosan Art School to support the growth of modern art.

Doosan Gallery New York & Doosan Residency New York

Doosan Gallery New York and Doosan Residency New York are the first non-profit art support programs in Korea to be formally recognized by the New York State Government and the Ministry of Education. Promising young artists are provided with a work studio and accommodation in New York, the center of modern art, free of charge to maximize their potential as international artists.

Yonkang Environment Research Fund

Since 1993, Yonkang Foundation has donated research funds to professors with a focus on the environment, helping them to create practical environmental applications.

Yonkang Academic Award

The Yonkang Academic Award was founded in 2006 to help further the progress of Korean medical science by stimulating enthusiasm for research among young medical students. Awards to date have recognized outstanding articles published in academic journals and contributions to surgical research.

Science Research Fund

Since 1979, the Foundation has supported research professors and research institutes dedicated to long-term scientific development.

Overseas Observation Tours for Teachers

History and Social Studies Teachers' Overseas Study Tour

Since 1989, Doosan Group has selected elementary, junior and senior high school teachers from around the country and given them the opportunity to visit the vestiges of Koguryeo culture in China, and personally experience a range of ancient Korean history sites spread throughout Japan.

Science Teachers' Overseas Study Tour

Launched in 2007 in partnership with the Korea Science Foundation, this program provides travel abroad for annual recipients of the Science Teacher Award, allowing outstanding science teachers to visit and experience science facilities both at home and abroad.

Yonkang Scholarship

Yonkang scholarship students receive full tuition. Since 1979, this program has helped both high school and college students who achieve outstanding performance in the face of financial hardship, paving the way for a bright future. 

Doosan Scholarship for Teenagers In Need

Since 2000, this scholarship has supported teenagers who are in need and are often the heads of their households. Our employees mentor the students and we also provide financial support and opportunities for them to experience adventure study programs.

Scholarship for Areas Affected by Natural Disasters

Since 2006, the Foundation has provided a scholarship that supports educational programs in devastated areas that have been affected by natural disasters.

Chinese Research Scholarships

To promote a better understanding of China, the Foundation has supported researchers with a major interest in the country since 1992. Scholarships are paid to post-doctorate researchers majoring in humanities and social science studies and it includes the total tuition and living expenses required for one year's research at Beijing and other famous Chinese universities.

Enhancing understanding of Korean Culture

The Foundation has helped to establish and support Korean language departments at many prestigious universities around the world in order to enhance the understanding of Korean language and culture.

Doosan Dream-tree Scholarship

The Foundation has provided scholarships to athletic students and funding to schools to encourage physical education.

The Book Donation Movement

Providing Books to Children’s Hospitals

In 2007, The Foundation donated books and bookshelves to Children's Hospitals throughout the country, giving students who can’t attend school a way to learn.

Providing Books to Remote Islands and Villages

Since 2006, The Foundation has donated books to elementary schools in remote islands and villages to encourage children to read and develop their creativity and wisdom.

Sending Books to Koreans Overseas

Doosan has helped Koreans in China and Russia enhance their sense of pride in their Korean identity by sending them Korean language textbooks, dictionaries, and other books about their native land. Since 1989 when this program began, over 410,000 books have been sent with the active support of local presses and publishing houses by the end of 2007.

The Tea of Love Movement

The Tea of Love Movement

Since 1991, Doosan has been expressing our gratitude and raising the morale of military officers and men through the Tea of Love Program. Many CEOs of Doosan subsidiaries pay personal visits to military bases, delivering various amenities to soldiers throughout the country. As of 2008, about 30 million cups of tea have been delivered to 303 military units.
