A nuclear Reactor is designed to contain the nuclear fuel under the high temperature and high pressure in which the chain reaction occurs. The domed closure head is assembled with studs so that it can be removed from the reactor vessel when the nuclear fuel is replaced.

Steam Generator

Steam Generator

The steam generator operates between the primary and secondary coolant loops. The heat generated by the nuclear fission in the reactor core is delivered to the coolant in the primary loop. The heat is transferred between the two loops, converting water into steam and delivering it to the turbines.
