In the belief that education is the foundation that leads the development of a nation, individual and company, Doosan has participated extensively in the support of education and scholarship programs.
Doosan gives learning opportunities to children living in the areas hit by economic difficulties by supporting the construction of ‘Project Hope Schools’, and contributes to local education programs and furthering the continual development of China. Doosan Infracore built 26 ‘Project Hope Schools’ all over China between 2001 and 2012, and is currently building or selecting sites for 7 more schools.

Doosan started supporting youth education on history and local society through photo-taking classes in 2012. By combining cultural arts and humanities into a new style of education, Doosan endeavors to resolve the growing tide of emotional disorders among the young which originate from absence of a parent or abuse at schools, so that they can raise their self-respect and improve their social skills.
Based on the Doosan’s philosophy about developing young talents and their self-reliance, the school provides diverse programs including meetings with mentors, job experience, summer camps for youth who have difficulty finding their talents and realizing their dreams on the grounds of family expediency.
Doosan has provided opportunities to visit science research-related sites and facilities in and outside Korea through its overseas academic program for science teachers and teacher’s overseas economic program, as well as opportunities to experience China’s recent development.

The Doosan Yonkang Foundation has donated books to elementary schools on islands and in isolated areas since 2006, as well as books and customized bookshelves for children's hospitals and schools nationwide since 2007. We also sends Korean textbooks and dictionaries to fellow Koreans living overseas to promote their national pride.

Since 1979, this program has offered full tuition to both high school and college students who achieve outstanding performance in the face of financial hardship, paving the way for a bright future.
Since 2005, Doosan has granted full scholarships to elementary and middle school students until their graduation from middle school, and formed a 1 on 1 mentoring relationship with Doosan staffs to share additional experiences beyond mere economic support.
For deeper understanding on China, Doosan has supported researchers with a major interest in the country since 1992. Scholarships support post-doctorate researchers majoring in humanities and social science studies and it includes the total tuition and living expenses required for one year's research at Peking University and other famous Chinese universities.
The Doosan Yonkang Foundation has offered scholarships to athletic students and funding to schools to encourage physical education.
The Doosan Yonkang Foundation has helped establish and support Korean language departments at many prestigious universities around the world in order to enhance the understanding of Korean language and culture.

The Yonkang Academic Award was founded in 2006 to help further progress of Korean medical science by stimulating enthusiasm for research among young medical students. Awards to date have recognized outstanding articles published in academic journals and contributions to surgical research.

As an effort for realizing the vision of returning assets to the society through education, Doosan joined the Chung-Ang University foundation.
Since joining the Chung-Ang University Foundation in 2008, Doosan had been one of the biggest fund sources of major private universities until 2010 for the expansion of their research and educational facilities. Starting with the extension and remodeling of the Central Library, Doosan improved the learning environment of the students through generous support including remodeling the dormitory, new building construction of the college of pharmacy and R&D center, expanding and remodeling old buildings of the college of law and business to the college of engineering 2 building. The company also expanded the faculty office building by adding more than 30 faculty offices, at the same time adding approximately 1,000 beds by building the annex to the Chung-Ang University Hospital as well as working on the campus improvement campaign for better intramural and surrounding environments by improving the existing Young-shin Hall, Chung-Ang Square, and main gate and paving the in-campus roads.
By proposing a brand new development model for universities, Doosan is endeavoring to enhance the future competitiveness and learning capability of the students. Efforts include launching the CEP (Chung-Ang English Program) wherein native speakers hold classes for small groups of students to build practical English capability, revising the current learning systems, or adding new programs such as the recently installed Department of Hybrid Engineering for artificial intelligence, robotics, medical engineering, and energy engineering, opening courses for career search and self-development, adding an intramural career help program, and expanding local and overseas internship programs.

Doosan pursues a virtuous cycle wherein support facilitates academic research, resulting in the strengthened competitiveness of the company. Toward this end, Doosan supports university management and academic research to contribute to national development and train talented students.
In 2012, Doosan made contribution of ‘Doosan Liberal Arts Hall’ to Seoul National University, which has 6 floors above ground and 1 underground equipped with classrooms, professor’s laboratories, seminar rooms and more. The company also donated a building fund for Business School Hall to Yonsei University and a fund for New Business School Hall in the Ahnam Campus of Korea University.
Doosan funded for the renovation of a workshop in the College of Engineering at Seoul National University, donated machine tools to the college, and provided scholarship and engines for practical training to Inha Technical College and Dongyang Mirae University.
