Through our efforts since 2006 to acquire top-tier ISB companies such as Bobcat, a construction machinery supplier and Škoda Power, a manufacturer of power generation equipment, Doosan has become a truly global brand in the ISB industry.

  • Acquired Mitsui Babcock UK (currently Doosan Babcock)

    Acquired Mitsui Babcock UK (currently Doosan Babcock)

    As part of its efforts to speed up globalization, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction acquired Mitsui Babcock, a British source technology company for power generating facilities.

  • Acquired IMGB Romania

    Acquired IMGB Romania

    The Kvaerner IMGB (currently Doosan IMGB), the largest materials company for power generation facilities in Romania, became a new member of our Doosan family.

  • Acquired Yonhap Capital (currently Doosan Capital)

    Doosan Capital began laying the foundation for becoming a global credit-specialized company when it joined Doosan.

  • Acquired 3 business divisions of Ingersoll Rand US including Bobcat

    Doosan Infracore successfully completed the M&A of compact construction equipment units including Bobcat, the world's leading utility equipment and attachments unit of Ingersoll Rand in the U.S., boosting its ranking in the global construction equipment industry to 7th.

    Doosan Infracore has acquired a German warehouse equipment manufacturer, Advanced Technology Lubben (ATL), and this move is part of Doosan’s bid to move into the European large-size warehouse market.

    By completing a wheel loader plant with an annual production capacity of 8,000 units in Yantai, Shandong Province, China, Doosan Infracore has furnished with its production and marketing infrastructure to expand its presence in the Chinese market, which is emerging as the largest market for heavy construction equipment in the world.

    Doosan Corporation has become a business-running holding company by satisfying the requirement for a holding company – the total value of the stocks of its subsidiary companies exceeding 50% of the assets of the company – from the 72nd ordinary shareholders’ meeting held on March 27 in Hotel Shilla located in Jangchung-dong, Seoul.

    Acquired Czech power generation equipment maker Škoda Power

    By acquiring Škoda Power of the Czech Republic, who possesses core technology for steam turbines, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction secured core technologies for boilers, turbines, and generators, the three core facilities for power generation. Moreover, Doosan has completed a full line-up of boilers, turbines, and generators to enter the packaged product market of boilers, turbines and generators.

2010

  • Established Doosan Power Systems

    Established Doosan Power Systems

    To advance into the EU and USA markets, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has established Doosan Power Systems which manages the power plant projects in these regions. The company will integrate the boiler source technology of Doosan Babcock and the turbine source technology of Škoda Power to advance into the BTG (Boiler – Turbine – Generator) package markets of EU and USA.

2011

    Obtained 19 World's No.1 Class Products

    As of 2011, Doosan produces 19 designated World Class Products (by the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy) including desalination and water treatment plants. Based on it's top-level technologies, Doosan is growing fast in the export market.

  • Completed the Xuzhou compact excavator plant

    Completed the Xuzhou compact excavator plant

    Doosan Infracore finished the construction of its second production base in Xuchou, Jiangsu Province, China, with an annual production capacity of 9,800 units of compact excavators of less than 8 tons. Thus the company has completed a two-top production system in China, with the Yantai plant already emerging as the top supplier of excavators in the country in terms of a cumulative production total.

    Doosan Corporation Mottrol dedicated a plant for key hydraulic components for excavators in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, China whereas Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials built a copper clad laminate production base in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China. Doosan Group continues to expand its presence in China not to produce goods at lower prices but to use its operation in China as a foothold for the maximum share of the world market and develop the Chinese market as its second domestic market for the mutual benefit of Korea and China.

  • Acquired ENPURE, U.K. based water/wastewater treatment company

    Acquired ENPURE, U.K. based water/wastewater treatment company

    Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction acquired ENPURE, a U.K. based water/wastewater treatment company with core technologies and patents for removing foreign matters from source water and seawater, as well as superior capabilties in water/wastewater treatment and design of desalination facilities. This allows Doosan to secure foundation for enhancing its RO(Reverse Osmosis) desalination competency.
