Our main business is building the massive 2-stroke, low speed diesels that drive the main propulsion system for large containerships, bulk carriers, crude oil carriers (VLCCs and ULCCs), and other tankers. We are currently jostling for the top position among the world's marine engine builders, and shipyards around the world want to use the top quality marine engines we build.

We first began producing medium-speed diesels in a 1983 technology-sharing arrangement with MAN Diesel SA of France. The engines have been used as the main propulsion system for special-purpose vessels and as backup generators at nuclear power plants. In 2001, our service capabilities improved through a technical license agreement with MAN Diesel SE of Germany and Daihatsu Diesel of Japan. The range of our medium-speed engine sizes was expanded to span from 450kW to 24,000kW. These engines are suitable for the main marine propulsion system(on cruise ships or other specialty craft) or the onboard generator system.
