Doosan DST has been improving the M113 armored vehicles of US military for more than twenty years. The company has been leading the depot maintenance and performance improvement of M113 armored vehicles for US military based in Hawaii, Philippines and Korea.
Doosan DST’s experience and know-how include depot maintenance and performance improvement projects for over 800 M113A1 and M113A2 armored vehicles between 1980 and 1986 and depot maintenance and performance improvement projects for over 500 M113A2 and M113A3 armored vehicles between 1987 and 1992.
The M113 armored vehicle performance improvement solution developed by Doosan DST greatly improves the power system and suspension system. For the power system, the turbo charger and intercooler are added and features a 6 cylinder diesel engine with greatly reduced smog and noise by applying the electronically controlled common rail injection system, electronically controlled, fully automatic transmission, and automatically controlled cooling system that can cool the coolant even in tropical weather.
Doosan DST has successfully executed the performance improvement of various armored vehicles including the K200A1, which greatly strengthened the mobility of the K200 as well as the performance improvement of armored vehicles exported to other countries.
