Chun Ma, the surface-to-air missile system, is Korea’s first short range surface-to-air missile system to defend against aerial attack using Korea’s complex mountainous terrain. The system is ideal in defending bases and facilities against aircrafts flying at low altitude with fixed or rotary wings. It features a 10㎞ effective range and maximum 60㎞/h mobility.

Chun Ma is a 10㎞ class surface to air missile system and also covers up to 5 Km altitude. Chun Ma can detect 20 targets and track 8 targets while scanning at the same time from beyond 20㎞. If the target is detected within 20㎞ and figures out the enemy, it is possible to track at 16㎞.
The first missile is fired when target comes at 13㎞, missile is intercepted at 8㎞, Chun Ma’s reaction time is very fast, so it can hit the target within 5㎞ again.
